Computer Science is my major, but I enjoy other fields as well, including Graphic Design, Writing, Civil Engineering, Cartography, and Mathematics.
These are some of the other projects I have created over the years.

Iron Pawn

Knives looks a fierce dragon in the eyes. I'd recommend going around...

Iron Pawn is a classic style RPG created with RPG Maker XP. I started creating this game because I enjoy the style of classic Japanese 2-D RPG's. So many of today's video games are so concerned about top-notch graphics and movie-length storylines that much of the simple, down-to-earth gameplay has been lost. I decided that RPG Maker XP provided an excellent modern representation of this lost genre. I am planning on actually publishing the game for free one day. My inspiration for this comes from a website called Amaranth Games.

Photoshop & Illustrator Art

Gaara turns love into HIS love A portrait of myself with a lot of avatars of people I knew Normal is boring. Dare to be abnormal!

Although I have only a moderate knowledge of the Adobe line of picture creation and editing tools, I do enjoy exploring what these programs are capable of doing. The above are three projects I completed for an Art class using Photoshop and/or Illustrator. The first is a Valentine's Day interpretation of the character Gaara from the anime Naruto. The second is a portrait of myself with a colorful collage of avatars. The third is a "Protest Poster" I created to express how I feel about being just "normal."

SIUE Trails Map

Original map, from SIUE Super deluxe map with secret trails!

Before I created my SIUE trails website, I worked on creating a map of the trails I found around the campus. When I started, the map was more to satisfy my own curiosity of the layout. But then, the number of trails and points of interest grew quite large, as did the edited map. So, using Adobe Photoshop, I took the existing map of SIUE and added intricate detail to the map to "complete" the map, if you will. I also used Google Maps to help me align the trails better with the geography of the area.

Project "Stein"

Statistics of Win Ben Stein's Money... Wow.

Just for fun, I was keeping track of the statistics for an old TV game show called "Win Ben Stein's Money." I wanted to see how much money contestants earned on average, and see how many questions on average were answered in the final round. At the same time, for one of my Statistics courses, our final project assignment was to measure data from any source and report the findings and statistic calculations related. As it turned out, the show's consistent template allowed for very accurate and consistent data to analyze.
