Trip 7 - MRF Ghost Town (2nd Run)

Observations:

1.) I came across some runners which looked like they were Cross Country students.  I figured they must use these grass paths for regular running.

2.) This trail configuration confused me at first.  I thought this center trail went back to the Bikeway, but it does not.  It comes close, but never touches the perimeter trails.

3.) Now I came across bikers on the dirt trails.  Now that I thought about it, all the dirt paths did look like they had been traversed by bikes.  It was distinctly different from the trails at “Death Ridge” (see Trip 3, Trip 4, and Trip 5).

4.) There is another trailhead here at New Poag Road.  I knew that this trail must come out at either Cougar Village or the Environmental Resources Training Center since the stream separated this side from the side I was on before.

5.) I noticed plastic colored tape tied to several trees along the path.  I found out later that there is also tape on the trees on the other path (see Trip 8).

6.) It seems odd that the trail would come out in someone’s backyard at Cougar Village.

7.) I had seen on Google Maps that there is a grass path that goes from Cougar Village over to the radio tower.  I thought I’d go that way as a shortcut, but there was a sign at the dam that said “No Trespassing,” so I decided it best to go back to the Bikeway.
