I have to say, that of all my computer classes I took in college, by far, the most interesting one of all was my Cyberarts class. Instead of learning once again how to code something, I got the chance to apply art and design to computer applications.

Trails of SIUE

Trails of SIUE

For Cyberarts, we could choose to use any of the software programs we had used during the course for our final project. I had so much fun designing the ACROSS Preview site that designing another website was a no-brainer. I just so happened to also be traversing the nature trails around SIUE that season, and I was in the process of drawing maps of the uncharted twists and turns (cartography is one of my hobbies). So I decided to make a fun, informative site about the trails of SIUE. Whereas most nature trails are mapped out, several of the ones around SIUE had no information, which made the whole experience more interesting. Plus, as I explain on the website, I actually uncovered quite a major milestone of SIUE music history on my trail excursions. To display some of my basic experience with Flash, I included Flash animations of the paths I walked on several of my walks. This adds an extra element of interest to the website, following my footsteps as in a movie or cartoon. This project was a very unique and comprehensive learning experience. Not only did I learn more about Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash, but I also explored unusual trails and learned about a forgotten event in SIUE's history. I had a lot of fun creating this website, and I am pleased with the end result of this website.

Preview of ACROSS

ACROSS

This was the first web page I created. I was interested in the new anime appreciation club at SIUE called "ACROSS." Therefore, I decided to create a fun page to" advertise" the organization. I enjoyed making this page quite a lot, since the sky was the limit. Based on an earlier project I made using Word, I decided to make a collage of anime characters to really make the page stand out.  And then I made a small table containing the main contacts of the organization, so that right away, a student gets to better know the organization.
